It all started with some second-hand greenery. Second hand nearly anything is right up my alley.
I brought home my artificial second-hand boxwood, that someone gave me, where it stayed in a bag for some time. I was flipping through PB Catalog and stumbled across a wreath made of live boxwood...and a light bulb went off, you know the kind, the kind that brings you up out of the chair , in a ever so slightly urgent frenzy, but not a totally crazy kind of frenzy, to find your second hand boxwood so you can make a wreath, kind of light bulb.
and so I did.I have a stash of small grapevine wreathes and I grabbed one, cut all the stems off the boxwood bushes and started gluing them into the grapevine wreath
I didn't know how much it would take, I only had 4 small bushes of boxwood, and it wasn't like I could go and buy more , so I just hoped I had enough
It filled out pretty nice and I was happy with it, but I wanted to hang something in the middle of the wreath like my inspiration picture.
I decided to take a stencil, cover it in vintage book paper, sparkle it up a bit tie some ribbon and hang it in the middle.
just like that.
...and then I was very happy
I hung the wreath right inside the front door, and it looks really wonderful with all the browns and silvers going on in the living room
